Been reading alot and wanted to confirm that 802.11wifi is likely not suitable for my use case. It involves repeating a mobile network connection via WiFi while monitoring my truck remotely while hiking/camping. Alotof criminals in the rural parts of Arizona and I dislike leaving my truck in the desert Any suggestions would be appreciated. Requirements:-Remain connected to truck mounted WiFi AP while on foot in rolling desert foothill’s. Near-LOS. - 4 TO 6 hour endurance.- motion triggered, active IR, POE, PTZ camera mounted on 25’ telescoping flag pole in truck bed- motion triggered push notifications to mobile device.- relay mobile data connection from 4g modem w/amplifier installed truck to myself. (Truck may be in service area when I have no service on foot)- trackable GPS enabled battery operated repeaters would be OK if not LOS. So far I’ve been toying around with a solution made up of a raspberry pi3 repeater, truck mounted ubuiquiti bullet m2 w/ 12dbi Omni antenna powered by an emergency car battery unit w/110ac power outlets. Keeping the truck out of the area would be a huge plus since I will be hunting as well.
